Pantone Grey & Yellow Colors of the Year in Contemporary Rug Design
In a time of turmoil and uncertainty, Pantone chose the Ultimate Grey and Illuminating Yellow as colors for the year 2021.
According to the Pantone Color Institute, Illuminating Yellow is associated with optimism and vivacity, while Ultimate Gray encourages “feelings of composure, steadiness and resilience.”
In home design, Ultimate Gray and Illuminating are a great combination to set the mood in any room in the home adding a dose of sunshine and positivity.
The ideal combination for any office whether in the home or in a commercial space with Ultimate Gray providing the firm foundation for Illuminating, a vibrant yellow that heightens awareness and enhances intuition, lighting the way to the intellectual curiosity, originality, and resourcefulness of an open mind.
With years of research to create cutting edge color palettes, G.T.DESIGN anticipated the trend with two rug designs featuring the combination of Pantone’s 2021 hues: Passo Doppio and Boom.
Passo Doppio, is “a long hand woven rug” in high performing technical yearn with a chromatic and tactile felt cylinder intervals that has been inserted between the weaves.
A resistant rug that can be used in covered outdoors areas, Passo Doppio is available in a grey pattern with bright yellow accents, a refined yet modern combination. The succession of the two materials interact, define the steps, and outline the surrounding space.
Boom, a contemporary rug design featuring a thick wool weft that supports the thin, velvety and soft bamboo fibers, is offered in a warm and vibrant yellow shade with a discreet and understated gray frame.
The delightful association of the earthy structure, the warm wool and the smooth lightness of the bamboo is reminiscent of the contrast and harmony of unexpected and early flowers in bloom.
